2 years agoTexas Rangers catcher Jonah Heim is expected to serve as the primary catcher in 2023. Mitch Garver will shadow Heim as the backup, but the Rangers are being cautious considering Garver's injury history. Once Garver was knocked out for the season due to a forearm injury last July, 27-year-old Heim went on an offensive tear. He slashed .262/.313/.467 with a .781 OPS. His bat took a heavy detour in the second half and managed to post a sloppy .181 clip. The Rangers are hoping that Heim can catch fire early in the season to get the most out of his bat. He is a solid option for fantasy managers, especially if he solidifies his offensive numbers.--Rephael Negnewitzky
