Jon Rahm Wins Open de Espana
7 years agoJon Rahm used a five-under par 67 final round to capture his first Open de Espana in Madrid, recording a 20-under par total to win by two shots over Paul Dunne. He became the sixth Spaniard to win the tournament since 1972, joining Seve Ballesteros and Sergio Garcia, among others. Rahm admitted he found it difficult to handle the expectations placed on him. "I'm just happy to play the way I did and to get it done," Rahm told Sky Sports after his third European Tour victory. "It's probably the hardest Sunday I've ever had to play because the amount of crowds I was carrying. Rahm will take a week off before returning to the PGA Tour in two weeks when he teams with Wesley Bryan at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
