3 years agoThe world's No. 1 ranked golfer continued his run of good form with a T10 finish at the Waste Management Phoenix Open last week. The Spaniard's ball-striking was excellent once again in the desert, as he finished third in strokes gained from tee-to-green. If it was not for a horrendous performance on and around the greens during his Friday round, Rahm likely would have won last week. It is only a matter of time before the 27-year-old finds his touch with his putter and wins a tournament, perhaps this week. Rahm has played The Genesis Invitational each of the last three years, finishing in  the top 20 every time.--Greg Berning - RotoBaller

10 months agoJon Rahm (foot) has withdrawn from the upcoming 2024 U.S. Open. Rahm made the announcement on social media via his X account, stating in part, "After consulting with numerous doctors and my team, I have decided it is best for my long-term health to withdraw from this week's U.S. Open Championship". ESPN's Marty Smith reported that Rahm is dealing with a sore on his left foot, and the Spaniard was visibly in pain at times during last week's LIV Houston event. Formerly the world's top-ranked golfer, Rahm made the jump to LIV ahead of the 2024 season and has not been a factor in either of this year's major championships.--Joe Nicely - RotoBaller

10 months agoAs if the bad play in non-LIV events wasn't enough to have cause for concern about playing Jon Rahm (foot) in fantasy lineups, his recent withdrawal from the Saudi League's event in Houston with an infection in his left foot should. The Spaniard has still not secured a victory on his new circuit and has a T45 and a missed cut to his name in the year's first two majors. To say the move to the breakaway league has not been as fruitful as many suspected for Rahm is a massive understatement. With a $10,900 price tag on FanDuel, he is undoubtedly the riskiest play at the top of the board with little hope of getting a positive return for DFS players.--Todd McGill - RotoBaller

12 months agoFor many of us, it will be the first time seeing Jon Rahm hit a live shot in 2024. With that anticipation in mind, however, is the realization that placing him in the fold for DFS strategies is essentially a dart throw, though one with the ability to land squarely on a bullseye. There aren't many stats to dig into as LIV does a horrendous job in that department, though Data Golf lists him as having an average total strokes gained of 2.25 through the first five LIV events of the season. Keep in mind that Augusta National is miles tougher than anything Rahm's seen this season, and regardless of the product the rival league has slowly become, it is slightly worrisome that he hasn't managed to win given his high finishes in all of them. And at $12,200 on FanDuel, it feels like a reach given how little we know.--Todd McGill - RotoBaller

2 years agoThe BMW Championship returns to its 2020 home, and the place Jon Rahm made an all-time putt to win the event. Now, three years later, Rahm sits atop the FedEx Cup standings, with two events left to play. Rahm's T37 finish last week at the first playoff event was surprising but should leave no concern for Rahm this week. Even with the rotation of courses for the BMW Championship, Rahm has only finished outside the top-10 at the event one time in his career, and has never finished outside the top-25. Even at one of the highest DFS prices this week, Rahm is still an elite option as he continues his journey towards his first FedEx Cup championship.--Kasey Kuhrts - RotoBaller
