Jon Gray Getting The Ball For Crucial Start Monday
1 year agoTexas Rangers right-hander Jon Gray will get the starting nod Monday in what is another crucial game for the club on the road against the Angels. Gray's Rangers currently sit 2.5 games ahead of the slumping Houston Astros for first place in the American League West but are also just three games ahead of the Seattle Mariners. Gray will look to keep his club in the driver's seat when he makes his 29th start of the season while he has worked to a 4.22 ERA and a 4.55 SIERA across his first 28 outings of the campaign. However, the right-hander has struggled of late, allowing 10 runs on 15 hits and five walks across his last three starts spanning just 8 2/3 innings of work. He has a nice matchup to get back on track against an Angels offense that sits 24th with a .296 wOBA over the last 30 days.
