Johnny Walker Looks Impressive In Saturday's Main Card
4 years agoJohnny Walker (18-5) relocated to SGB Ireland to be under the tutelage of coach John Kavanah, and it looks like the changes to his game paid off. Walker scored a first-round knockout over a very tough and physical Ryan Spann. The No. 11-ranked Walker was wobbled by No. 12 Spann's big left hand. Returning to his feet wobbled, Walker turned the tables and put Spann on the cage. After a series of hammerfists, the referee stopped the bout. Walker landed 26 significant strikes in less than three minutes of action. After a two-fight losing streak, Walker looked like a rejuvenated fighter in the Octagon under the services of Kavanah, the famed coach of Conor McGregor. If this is the new Walker, he may be ready to make another run at the title.
