Calgary Flames left-winger Johnny Gaudreau scored twice and had one assist in the 6-0 victory over the New York Rangers. This snapped a two-game pointless streak for the forward as Calgary enjoyed a laugher against New York on Saturday night. Gaudreau was even rested as he only played 14:55 -- 2:30 on the power-play. He had three shots and three scoring chances in all. Gaudreau now has 14 points in 11 contests with four goals and ten assists. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller

Columbus Blue Jackets center Sean Monahan is looking forward to reuniting with Johnny Gaudreau at his new club. The two former Calgary Flames players are teammates again after the Blue Jackets picked up Monahan on a five-year, $27.5 million contract in free agency. "I am really looking forward to being teammates with Johnny again," Monahan recently told NHLPA.com. "Johnny is motivated to have a big season and be a huge part of the team and I'm excited to have the opportunity to reignite the chemistry we had for close to a decade." Following some awful injury issues, Monahan returned to form in 2023-24 with a 59-point effort across 83 games split between Montreal and Winnipeg. His productivity could receive a further boost in the upcoming campaign if he rekindles his old magic with Gaudreau, who might also benefit from the partnership.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Columbus Blue Jackets left wing Johnny Gaudreau racked up three points in Wednesday's 7-4 victory over Anaheim, potting a goal and posting two assists. The silky winger registered his third multi-point effort in five outings to continue his recent scoring surge. Gaudreau has bagged 11 points (one goal, 10 assists) over his last eight appearances. It's been by far the most productive period of Gaudreau's season. However, Gaudreau's numbers still have a lot of room for improvement, as the seven-time All-Star sits on only eight goals and 40 points through 55 outings.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Columbus Blue Jackets left wing Johnny Gaudreau had his second multi-point outing of the season on Sunday versus Carolina, finishing a 3-2 loss with a goal and an assist. Led by Gaudreau, the Blue Jackets grabbed a 2-0 lead early in the third period, but the team's struggles continued with yet another defeat. Columbus is now 6-12-4 for the season, and it's been very challenging for Gaudreau to please fantasy managers on a bad team. He's done well lately by logging two goals and three assists over a five-game stretch, but the seven-time All-Star is on only 11 points (three goals, eight assists) for the season with 22 games played.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Columbus Blue Jackets winger Johnny Gaudreau is looking forward to working with new head coach Mike Babcock and believes that the team will have a bounce-back year. "He's been in this league for a long time," Gaudreau said about Babcock to Adam Kimelman of NHL.com. "He's going to come straightforward with what he wants and how he wants his team ran. It's what we need. We need that hard-nosed coach that's going to push us in practices and in games. I'm excited to get out there and start the season off with him, and I think we're going to have a good year this year." Columbus finished with the second-worst record in the league last season and the team's poor play also left a mark on Gaudreau's numbers, as the skillful winger completed his debut campaign in Ohio with only 74 points (21 goals, 53 assists) in 80 games. However, Gaudreau appears to be very confident that the 2023-24 campaign will be completely different for him and the team.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
