Johnny Cueto To Start On Saturday Against Washington
1 year agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Johnny Cueto (illness) is expected to start on Saturday against the Washington Nationals. Cueto was placed on the 15-day injured list back on August 21 with a viral infection, and although he hasn't been officially activated yet, beat writer Jordan McPherson stated that the veteran hurler is starting on Saturday. It's been a poor season so far for the 37-year-old as he owns a lackluster 5.57 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and 26:9 K/BB ratio over 32 1/3 innings (seven games, six appearances). His low WHIP and inflated ERA suggest he's had some bad luck so far but fantasy managers should avoid streaming him for this one. Miami is in the thick of the heated NL Wild Card race so any positive signs from Cueto would be big down the stretch.
