John Metchie III To Be Involved In Offseason Workouts
2 years agoHouston Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said that wide receiver John Metchie III (illness) will be involved with the team's offseason program. He missed all of last season after being diagnosed with Leukemia. The 22-year-old continues to progress in his recovery, and the Texans are optimistic he will return this season. "At the right time, when the season comes, we'll see where he is," said Ryans. The Texans have Robert Woods, Nico Collins, Noah Brown, Amari Rodgers, and Metchie on their WR depth chart. Metchie caught 96 passes for 1,142 yards and eight touchdowns in 13 games in his junior year at Alabama and should have a vital role in the Texans offense when he returns to the field.
