John Means Holds Red Sox To One Hit In First Win Of 2021
4 years agoBaltimore Orioles starting pitcher John Means put together a dominant start on Friday afternoon, allowing just one hit while striking out five in seven scoreless innings to earn the win in a 3-0 victory over the Red Sox. After having his start postponed a day due to rain, Means allowed a leadoff single to Kike Hernandez to start the game and then retired the next 20 batters he faced in order. After a shaky Spring Training in which he allowed 15 runs on 20 hits and seven walks over 19 innings, Means looked like a completely different pitcher in Boston. It's too early to say he's a must-roster pitcher in all formats, but he definitely looks like he could be one of the better streaming options right now.
