John Means Could Get The Start On Opening Day
4 years agoBaltimore Orioles starting pitcher John Means could take the mound on Opening Day for his team. Means will get another start on Wednesday against the Braves after allowing six runs on 10 hits to go along with four strikeouts in his first 7 2/3 innings this spring. The 27-year-old seemingly has the best stuff on the Orioles' staff, as he pitched to an underwhelming 4.53 ERA, though a look under the hood reveals his 19.9 K-BB rate, 43.9 groundball rate, and 3.93 SIERA, which perhaps paint a more accurate picture of his 2020 season. Means is pitching in the tough AL East for a Baltimore team that probably won't win many games, though he's got some late-round strikeout and WHIP appeal at his 225 ADP.
