Dallas Stars defenseman John Klingberg will play on Friday against Nashville despite missing Thursday's practice for medical reasons. Tyler Seguin (hip), Stephen Johns (undisclosed) and Blake Comeau (COVID-19) will miss the season opener. Klingberg had a quiet regular season campaign last year, but he really stepped it up in the playoffs with 21 points in 26 games. He isn't too far removed from a 67-point season, so hopefully he'll regain his mojo in 2021. Klingberg will be on the first pairing with Eda Lindell and he'll skate as the lone defenseman on the team's top power-play unit.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
