John Hightower Lead Eagles In Receiving
3 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles wide receiver John Hightower caught five of six targets for 52 yards during Saturday's 48-10 preseason loss to the Miami Dolphins. The third-year receiver did not have the most targets, that honor when to teammate Deon Cain, but he did have the most receptions of the Eagles' backups. After not recording a target in the first preseason game, Hightower followed up a lackluster one-reception performance last week with a solid outing Saturday. Hightower's top competition for a roster spot seems to be Cain, and even after a solid game, he is likely on the outside looking in right now. The 26-year-old should resurface on the Eagles practice squad if he is cut and carries no fantasy relevance in redraft or dynasty formats.

John Hightower Making A Case For Chargers 53-Man Roster
2 years agoLos Angeles Chargers wide receiver John Hightower has hauled in just 10 passes for 167 yards and no touchdowns since entering the NFL in 2020, but he is reportedly gaining steam to make the Chargers' 53-man roster with an impressive showing at training camp. "The most surprising performer in Chargers camp has been receiver John Hightower — and it has not really been close," Daniel Popper of the Athletic wrote. "Hightower entered this spring and summer as a relative afterthought in a loaded Chargers receiver room that includes Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, Joshua Palmer, and rookie first-round pick Quentin Johnston." Hightower trails only Keenan Allen in receptions and leads all Chargers wide receivers in touchdowns during team drills. The 27-year-old won't be on the fantasy radar right away if he does make the team, but he could be sprung into action at some point in 2023 as Allen and Williams have had plenty of injury woes in their careers.
