John Gibson Yanked In Rout At Toronto
6 years agoAnaheim Ducks goaltender John Gibson allowed five goals on 35 shots in Monday's 6-1 loss on the road against the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was pulled 6:22 into the third period in favor of Chad Johnson, who allowed one goal on nine shots while finishing up the lopsided loss. Only center Rickard Rakell was able to contribute any offense in the rout, as the Ducks were mostly unable to solve Toronto netminder Frederik Andersen. Gibson has been awful over the past three starts, allowing 16 goals on just 80 shots for an .800 save percentage while going 0-3-0 with an unsightly 8.37 goals-against average. It wouldn't be surprising to see him take a backseat to Johnson in Tuesday's game in Montreal.
