6 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher John Gant picked up his first save of the season on Monday, tossing a scoreless inning while allowing just a walk. Gant won't be the usual closer for the Cardinals, but Andrew Miller and Jordan Hicks had already been used in Monday's extra-inning game, so Gant was the next guy up for the 11th-inning save chance. He's a solid reliever but won't have much value in standard leagues.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
