John Gant Lands On Injured List With Groin Strain
3 years agoThe Minnesota Twins placed starting pitcher John Gant (groin) on the 10-day injured list on Saturday. He is dealing with a right mild groin strain. The team called up fellow pitcher Charlie Barnes from Triple-A in a corresponding move. Gant struggled in his last outing of the year on Friday, pitching four innings against the Kansas City Royals and giving up eight hits, two walks and six earned runs. The 29-year-old split his 2021 season with the Twins and the St. Louis Cardinals. He made a total of 39 appearances this year (21 starts) and went 5-11 with a 4.09 ERA and a 1.51 WHIP.
