John Carlson Stands Out On Tuesday
4 years agoWashington Capitals defenseman John Carlson extended his personal point streak to four games in his team's 3-2 home victory over the Washington Capitals on Tuesday night. The supremely talented blue-liner opened the scoring with a power-play tally in the first period and then added a secondary assist in the middle frame. Carlson has followed up a 2019-2020 season in which he was nominated for the Norris Trophy as the league's best defenseman with seven points (two goals, five assists), 22 shots and 11 hits in his first seven contests. He's a unanimous top-three rearguard in nearly all fantasy formats and should be considered a lineup staple each night he takes the ice. He'll get another opportunity to shine when the Caps take on the Islanders again on Thursday.
