John Carlson Can Retake Defensive Scoring Lead
7 years agoWashington Capitals defenseman John Carlson has had an enormously successful postseason to this point. Unlike most of his teammates, his best series was the first round, in which he tallied nine of his 16 points, eight of which were on the power play. Despite not posting any power-play points in the third round, Carlson still leads his team in power-play scoring with 10 points. Heading into the Stanley Cup Finals, Carlson sits tied atop the lead for points by a defenseman with 16. Dustin Byfuglien sits idle, so Carlson’s next point would reinstate his lead. Carlson often has proven to be the best defenseman this postseason, and owners should not hesitate to start him Monday night.
