John Bates Active In Week 7
2 years agoWashington Commanders tight end John Bates (hamstring) is officially active in Week 7 against the Green Bay Packers. Bates came into this contest listed as questionable, but he got in a limited practice on Friday and has been cleared to suit up. With Logan Thomas (calf) missing another game, Bates should have a bigger pass-catching role on Sunday. Bates missed last week's game, which allowed Cole Turner to lead the team's tight end group with two receptions for 23 yards. In Week 5 with Thomas also out, Bates led the TE group by playing 58.6 percent of the offensive snaps, but he was only targeted three times. With backup quarterback Taylor Heinicke now running the show for at least the next four weeks, Bates can be ignored as a tight end streamer in fantasy.
