Joey Wiemer Could Make Opening Day Roster
2 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfielder Joey Wiemer has a chance at making the Opening Day roster, according to manager Craig Counsell. The right-handed slugger has held his own during his time in camp this spring. He's hitting .250 with two home runs, three RBI, and two stolen bases so far in Cactus League action. Counsell mentioned the team has uncertainty in the outfield, which means Wiemer has a shot at earning a spot on the roster. Last season, Wiemer hit .256/.336/.465 with 21 homers, 77 RBI, and 31 stolen bases between Double-A and Triple-A. The 24-year-old has promising upside, so fantasy managers should keep an eye on him throughout camp.
