Joey Wendle With A Homer Sunday Versus Boston
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays second baseman Joey Wendle produced one of the key blows of the game Sunday versus the Red Sox. His solo homer in the second inning opened the scoring of the game and would be the eventual game-winner in the 2-0 victory. Over the past 10 games, he has driven in 9 runs while he has only 33 in the 95 games he had played before that this season. He still has only hit eight career HR in 140 games and mediocre in runs scored and RBI. His main value comes from his high batting average (.291) and his speed (8 steals in 2018, 10 in his career). He is not a league-winner and is not worth much in shallow or medium-depth leagues but there are deep formats where he matters.
