2 years agoThe Miami Marlins placed infielder Joey Wendle (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list on Thursday with left hamstring tendonitis. The Fish also put left-hander Trevor Rogers (lat) on the 15-day injured list with a left lat strain and recalled pitchers Braxton Garrett and Peyton Burdick from Triple-A Jacksonville. Garrett will likely start on Friday. Wendle's IL stint is retroactive to Sept. 19. The 32-year-old veteran had missed the team's last three games, and with time running out in the 2022 season, he may have played his last game in 2022. Expect to see Jordan Groshans and Charles Leblanc battle for playing time in Miami's infield with Wendle on the shelf. Wendle has played in only 95 games in his first year in Miami, hitting .258/.297/.366 with only three home runs, 31 RBI, 26 runs and 12 stolen bases in 348 plate appearances.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
