2 years agoThe Athletic's Chad Jennings reported Tuesday that the Boston Red Sox have Miami Marlins' infielder Joey Wendle on their radar as a potential external option to fill in for Trevor Story (elbow) as he recovers from an internal bracing procedure of the UCL in his right elbow. The 33-year-old bats left-handed and spent time at second base, shortstop, and third base in 2022. Offensively, he slashed .259/.297/.360 with three home runs, 32 RBI, and 12 stolen bases in 371 plate appearances. A move from the Marlins' lineup to the Red Sox's wouldn't be a huge upgrade, and Wendle's fantasy value is almost solely derived from his stolen base potential.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
