Joey Wendle On A Hot Streak
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays second baseman Joey Wendle continued his recent hot streak with a big game Wednesday versus Atlanta. He would record two hits, two runs, and two RBI in the 8-5 victory. Wendle would also add two stolen bases and a walk. Over the past 18 games, he has driven in 15 runs while he has only 33 in the 95 games he had played before that this season. Wendle still has only hit nine career HR in 148 games and has been mediocre in runs scored and RBI. His main value comes from his high batting average (.296) and his speed (12 steals in 2018, 14 in his career). In fact, Wendle has four steals in his past four games. He is not a league-winner and is not worth much in shallow or medium-depth leagues but there are deep formats where he matters.
