Joey Wendle Drives In Two Runs Saturday Versus Boston
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays second baseman Joey Wendle struck early in the game Saturday versus the Red Sox. He would double in two runs in the first inning and then be driven in by the next batter. He has gone 4-for-7 with three doubles, two runs scored and three RBI over the past two games. Over the past 10 games, he has driven in 10 runs while he has only 31 in the 93 games he had played before that this season. He still has only hit eight career HR in 138 games and mediocre in runs scored and RBI. His main value comes from his high batting average (.295) and his speed (8 steals in 2018, 10 in his career). He is not a league-winner and is not worth much in shallow or medium-depth leagues but there are deep formats where he matters.
