5 years agoTampa Bay Rays second baseman Joey Wendle (wrist) is back from the injured list on Friday and is at second base and batting seventh against Angels left-handed starting pitcher Andrew Heaney. Brandon Lowe, Ji-Man Choi and Kevin Kiermaier are all taking a seat against the left-hander. Guillermo Heredia is in center field and hitting ninth, while Yandy Diaz is batting cleanup and starting at first base. Wendle hit well on his rehab assignment and will return to a .136 average with no homers and two RBI in eight games in the majors this year. He'll mostly serve as a utility infielder in Tampa, restricting his value to AL-only leagues, but he could cut into Lowe's playing time against left-handers.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
