Joey Votto Sitting With Back Tightness Wednesday
2 years agoCincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto (back) is being held out of the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the New York Mets due to back tightness. Reds manager David Bell stated that Votto has dealt with the ailment before and that the team is just playing things safe by holding Votto out of Wednesday's contest. Votto was also on the bench for Tuesday's game. At the time it seemed like a rest day, but it could have been related to this issue as well. The 38-year-old should be considered day-to-day for now. Brandon Drury will be holding down first base for Wednesday's game.
