Joey Votto Gets Day Off Sunday
3 years agoCincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto is not in the lineup for the series finale against the New York Mets Sunday. The day off is extremely frustrating for fantasy managers, as the white-hot Votto has hit nine homers over his past eight games and has a built-in day off tomorrow as the Reds travel to Minnesota. The six-time All-Star finished the month of July with 11 homers, 25 RBI, 18 runs, and a .319/.440/.734 line over 94 at-bats. On the season, the 37-year-old has 21 homers, 59 RBI, 40 runs, and a .276/.371/.556 line through 318 at-bats. Infielder Max Schrock replaces Votto at first and is batting fifth against New York Mets starting pitcher Marcus Stroman. Stroman has been especially tough on lefties this season, dampening Schrock's value in DFS today.
