Joey Porter Jr. Visits Giants On Monday
2 years agoTop-five cornerback prospect Joey Porter Jr. visited the New York Giants on Monday. Porter, the son of Steelers great Joey Porter Sr., is regarded as one of the best cornerbacks available and could be off the board before the Giants (No. 25) pick. In four years at Penn State, Porter made 113 tackles, one interception, and 20 pass defenses. He ranked third in the Big Ten with 11 pass defenses his senior year, while allowing a 50% completion percentage and zero touchdowns when targeted. The Giants, whose cornerback room is weak behind CB1, hosted Syracuse's Garrett Williams earlier. If Porter, who is ranked in the top 20 of both PFF's and Mel Kiper's big boards, falls all the way to the Giants, he would be a high-value pick. Some have speculated the Giants might trade up.
