5 months agoMilwaukee Brewers infielder Joey Ortiz (neck) has been placed on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to July 2. Ortiz has been battling neck stiffness for some time, so the Brewers decided to finally shut him down for a bit. Ortiz returned on Monday after missing three games due to the same issue. It sounds like he aggravated the issue, so he'll take off a week or two. Vinny Capra has been recalled in a corresponding move to take his place on the roster. Andruw Monasterio will cover third base and bat ninth versus right-hander Dakota Hudson on Wednesday.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
