Joey Lucchesi Has Big Game On Friday
2 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Joey Lucchesi was brilliant during Friday's 7-0 win over the Giants. The 29-year-old, making his first big league start since 2021, looked good in this one. He was on the bump for seven scoreless innings, striking out nine batters while allowing four hits and two walks. With the Mets down Carlos Carrasco (elbow) and Justin Verlander (shoulder), Lucchesi may get some more starts moving ahead, possibly during the series with the Washington Nationals. Although fantasy managers may not receive a repeat performance from the lefty, he's worth a look from those in need of a short-term replacement.
