Joey Logano Nearly Takes Pole At Texas
2 years agoJoey Logano probably thought he had the pole position at Texas but his former teammate, Brad Keselowski, was just a tiny bit faster. Logano's 28.601 second lap was good enough to be outside Row 1 for this race. This could be a considerable benefit as the Team Penske driver looks to get off to a good start in segment two of the playoffs. With the standings resetting, Logano has a 16 point cushion over ninth place Chase Briscoe. The No. 22 Ford has a couple of top-five results and looked pretty fast during the All-Star Race. Again, the unknown with the Next-Gen car plus temperatures around 95 degrees could actually help Logano Sunday.
