Joey Logano Crashed, but Still Moves Above Playoffs Cut Line
5 months agoAlthough Joey Logano never led during yesterday's New Hampshire race, he ran in the top five consistently except for pit stop exchanges until he spun out Chase Elliott to trigger the fifth caution of the race while they were battling for 11th behind a number of drivers who had either stayed out of the pits or taken two tires on the previous caution. Logano suffered damage to his right front tire in the incident and fell three laps off the pace to ultimately finish 32nd, but it wasn't a total loss as he did collect 17 Stage points in the race, which allowed him to overtake Bubba Wallace (who also crashed) for the final playoff spot. However, the two-time champion is still in a very precarious position, particularly if any other driver outside of the playoffs wins.
