Joey Logano Claims His First 2025 Top-10 Finish After Up-And-Down Performance
1 day agoJoey Logano of Team Penske finished eighth after a hard-fought, topsy-turvy day at Martinsville Speedway. Starting from the seventh position, Logano ran in the top 10 through the first stage until his first pit stop on lap 33. Logano had fresher tires and then spent the rest of the stage working through the field until he got to the lead. Logano won the first stage and collected major stage points as a result. In the second stage, Logano pitted and restarted from the rear of the field. The No. 22 Ford driver spent the stage trying to rally back into the top 10 but fell short; he ranked 12th and failed to obtain more stage points at the end of the second stage. In the final stage, Logano continued to make up ground until he spun on lap 317 due to Chase Briscoe hopping a curb on the track and spinning him out. Logano took fresh tires on the ensuing caution and spent the rest of the time recovering to the eighth position for his first top-10 finish of the season.
