Joey Gallo Blasts First Homer As A Yankee
3 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Joey Gallo went 3-for-4 with a homer, three RBI, and two runs scored during a 5-3 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Thursday. The two-time All-Star blasted his 26th homer, a three-run shot and first as a Yankee, off of Mariners relief pitcher Paul Sewald during the seventh inning. The newly acquired Yankee had been slumping before breaking out on Thursday, going 2-for-23 with zero homers. Gallo is as streaky as they come, and fantasy managers are hoping the 27-year-old is entering a hot one. On the season, Gallo has 26 homers, 58 RBI, 61 runs, and six steals to go along with a .220/.372/.487 line over 419 at-bats. Provided he builds off this night, there is no better place for the slugging Gallo to be than Yankee Stadium and the short right field porch.
