Joely Rodriguez Begins Rehab Assignment Thursday
2 years agoBoston Red Sox lefty Joely Rodriguez (oblique) began a rehab assignment on Thursday with Triple-A Worcester, pitching a scoreless inning, allowing one hit and striking out a batter. The 31-year-old is working his way back from a right oblique strain that has held him out of action for the entire 2023 to date. Last season, Rodriguez posted a 4.47 ERA and 1.35 WHIP but enjoyed a 26.4% strikeout rate with nine holds. When he does return, he has a chance to be a part of the setup mix with John Schreiber and Chris Martin. However, fantasy managers shouldn't expect Rodriguez to see many save situations, as longtime closer Kenley Jansen will continue seeing the majority of save opportunities.
