Joe Webb Ends Preseason On High Note
6 years agoHouston Texans quarterback Joe Webb put up efficient numbers in the team's preseason finale on Thursday as the veteran passer tries to guarantee himself a spot on the team's final roster. Webb was 11-for-18 from the field for 136 yards and added five carries for 28 yards. He didn't turn the ball over. Webb can contribute on special teams as well for the Texans and could have some fantasy value if anything happens to starting quarterback Deshaun Watson. Though Brandon Weeden will open the season as the backup, Webb's game fits more stylistically with what Watson brings. He isn't fantasy relevant at this point, but his versatility could come in handy for the team if injuries do strike.
