Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Joe Ryan tossed six innings, allowing three runs on six hits in a 10-4 win over Boston Wednesday. The 26-year-old is off to a fantastic start with a 4-0 record, a 3.24 ERA, and a 0.76 WHIP. He's thrown in 25 innings so far, striking out 29 opposing batters. Ryan is slated to start against the Yankees again Monday, and he should be productive in fantasy leagues all season long.--Andrew Lennox - RotoBaller

The Minnesota Twins announced on Thursday that right-hander Joe Ryan (illness) will make his next start on Saturday against the San Francisco Giants at Target Field in Minnesota. Right-hander Chris Paddack will get the ball for the series opener on Friday night. Ryan was originally scheduled to start Thursday's series finale against the Baltimore Orioles, but he was scratched due to an illness. The 28-year-old is obviously feeling better now and he'll take his next turn through the rotation this weekend. Although the matchup against the Giants isn't as good as the one against the struggling Orioles would have been, Ryan is still deserving of being in starting fantasy lineups on Saturday. In his seven starts so far in 2025, Ryan has an ERA under 3.00, a 0.90 WHIP, 47 strikeouts and only five walks in 40 innings pitched. He's allowed just one earned run with 19 K's in his last 13 innings pitched.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

The Minnesota Twins have scratched right-hander Joe Ryan (illness) from his scheduled start on Thursday in the series finale against the Baltimore Orioles due to an illness, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune's Bobby Nightengale. Right-hander Bailey Ober will make the start in Ryan's place. It's unclear if Ryan will have his turn in Minnesota's rotation skipped entirely, or if he'll make a start at some point during the team's three-game home weekend series against the San Francisco Giants. After a six-run outing on April 20 against the Atlanta Braves, Ryan has been excellent his last two times out against the Angels and Red Sox, allowing just an earned run with two walks and 19 strikeouts in 13 innings. Ryan should be fine to take the ball this weekend against the Giants, but it represents a downgrade in matchup instead of facing the offensively-challenged Orioles.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Joe Ryan was excellent on the mound during Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Angels. Ryan was blasted for six runs during his last start, but bounced back nicely during this start. He tossed seven shutout innings, allowing four hits, and striking out 11 batters in the win. Ryan has allowed one earned run or less in four of his first six starts of the season. He'll take a 3.18 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, and a 39/4 K/BB ratio into his next start against the Boston Red Sox. This isn't a favorable matchup for Ryan, but he still remains a must-have in basically all fantasy formats.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Joe Ryan picked up the win on Wednesday, striking out four over seven scoreless innings in a 4-0 shutout against the Royals. This was his first win and quality start of the season, and he has now gone all 17 innings in 2025 without issuing a single walk. This is nothing new for the right-hander, who had an elite walk rate of 4.3% in 2024 that led to a WHIP of just 0.99. He'll look to keep things rolling in his next start, currently in line to be against the Mets.--Jeremy Heist - RotoBaller
