Joe Ryan Activated From Injured List, Will Start On Saturday
1 year agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Joe Ryan (groin) has been activated from the 15-day injured list and will start against the Texas Rangers on Saturday. Ryan was initially placed on the IL back on Aug. 3 with a left-groin strain, so his return to the Twins' rotation is a welcome sight for the team and fantasy managers alike. The 27-year-old was incredibly effective through the first two months of the season, posting a 2.77 ERA (2.7 FIP), but then began to falter in June (4.83 ERA/4.59 FIP) before the wheels fell off in July (6.39 ERA/5.28 FIP). Overall, Ryan owns a 9-8 record, 4.43 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 152:25 K/BB over 126 innings (22 starts). He'll look to lengthen the Twins' lead in the American League Central on Saturday.
