Joe Ross To Return From IL And Start Monday
3 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Joe Ross (elbow) will come off the injured list to start again the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday, according to manager Davey Martinez. Ross has been out since July 8 with right elbow inflammation. This represents quite a swift return for the right-hander, as a diagnosis of elbow inflammation frequently carries a much longer recovery time and often leads to surgery. Ross has a 5-8 record on the season with a 4.02 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and 91 strikeouts in 87 1/3 innings. Fantasy managers may want to hold off on activating him for this first start if there are other options, but he should be on rosters in all formats.
