Joe Mantiply To Start For Arizona In Game 4
1 year agoArizona Diamondbacks left-hander Joe Mantiply will make the start in Game 4 of the National League Championship Series on Friday against the visiting Philadelphia Phillies in what will be a bullpen game for the D-backs staff. Mantiply will get another shot at the Phillies after allowing three earned runs on three hits while walking two in just one-third of an inning in the Game 2 loss in Philadelphia on Tuesday. In his first three career playoff outings this year, Mantiply threw 2.2 scoreless innings of relief with one walk and two strikeouts. The 32-year-old southpaw should not be started in DFS, as he's likely to go an inning or two on Friday, at the most. Right-hander Ryne Nelson could pitch the bulk of the innings in this "bullpen" game.
