Joe Mantiply To Start For Arizona In Game 4 Of World Series
1 year agoArizona Diamondbacks left-hander Joe Mantiply will get the "start" for Game 4 of the World Series on Tuesday against the visiting Texas Rangers. He'll be opposed by left-hander Andrew Heaney. Mantiply will merely be serving as the opener in what is expected to be a bullpen game for the Diamondbacks as they look to even the series back up at two games apiece. The 32-year-old southpaw struck out one in a scoreless inning of work in Game 1 of the World Series on Friday. He has allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits while walking three and striking out five in 6 1/3 relief innings in this year's postseason. Right-hander Ryne Nelson is the best bet to see the bulk of innings in relief for the Snakes on Tuesday evening.
