Joe Barlow Returning To Texas On Minor-League Deal
3 days agoAccording to the team, the Texas Rangers have re-signed right-handed pitcher Joe Barlow to a minor-league contract. Barlow is also being invited to spring training. Barlow was initially drafted by the Rangers in the 11th round of the 2016 MLB Draft. Barlow logged 73 2/3 innings with the Rangers from 2021 through 2023 and held a 3.05 ERA with a 1.07 WHIP. He tallied 24 saves and 61 punchouts. Barlow has not pitched in the major leagues since. Last summer, he logged just 11 innings at the Triple-A level and allowed 13 earned runs. Fantasy managers should expect Barlow to compete for a low-leverage spot in the Texas bullpen during spring training. However, given his lack of recent MLB experience, the 29-year-old will likely open the campaign in the minor leagues.
