Joe Barlow Headed Back To Injured List With Blister Issue
2 years agoTexas Rangers right-handed pitcher Joe Barlow (finger) is headed back to the injured list. Barlow is once again dealing with a blister issue on his right index finger, and it is bad enough that he is making a second trip to the injured list because of it. Barlow has pitched well this season with a 3.16 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 24 strikeouts over 31 1/3 innings to go along with 13 saves in 17 attempts. At one point, Barlow was the clear-cut closer for the Rangers, but with his injuries and the emergence of Jonathan Hernandez, it appears that he has lost his job and could be hard-pressed to get it back when he returns. Fantasy managers who were hoping Barlow would return to the closer role should check to see if Hernandez is still available and pick him up immediately if he is.
