JJ Bleday Sitting Sunday
2 years agoOakland Athletics outfielder JJ Bleday is absent from Sunday's starting lineup for the game against Andrew Heaney and the Texas Rangers. The 25-year-old has been impressive with the bat over 11 games, slashing .324/.359/.649 with three homers, seven runs, and three RBI after the team promoted him in early May, but has sat against lefties. So, with southpaw Heaney on the hill, he'll get the day off in favor of catcher Carlos Perez, who'll be the designated hitter in the cleanup spot. The five-year veteran has continued to swing a hit bat, producing a .333/.400/.526 slash line with three long balls through 24 games, and he can potentially be a solid streaming option while in the middle of the club's lineup.
