5 years agoThe Milwaukee Brewers placed starting pitcher Jimmy Nelson (elbow) on the 10-day Injured List with right elbow effusion on Friday. The move is retroactive to June 26. The team called up Corbin Burnes to fill the roster spot. Nelson has pitched in four games this year and has shown no signs of regaining the form he had prior to his 2017 shoulder injury. He has an 8.36 ERA and 2.29 WHIP through his four games. Meanwhile, Burnes hasn't been any better in his big league exposure this year with an 8.85 ERA and 1.87 WHIP in 23 games, four of which were starts. It's likely that Burnes will pitch out of the bullpen for now. Both pitchers can remain on waivers in all leagues.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
