Jimmy Garoppolo Undergoes Knee Surgery
6 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (knee) underwent surgery Wednesday to repair his torn left ACL. Garoppolo suffered the season-ending injury in Week 3 but couldn’t go under the knife until swelling subsided. The estimated timetable for his return is nine to 10 months, which puts him on track to be ready during training camp. Premature comebacks are the biggest risk to reinjury so the Niners will be careful with their franchise quarterback. Garoppolo will be 28 years old entering the 2019 season and should retain value in dynasty leagues. In nine games with the 49ers, he holds a 64.7% completion percentage for 2,278 yards, 12 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Second-year quarterback C.J. Beathard is the 49ers starter until further notice.
