5 years agoIn seemingly contradictory statements, San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan indicated he wants quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (knee) to run more but also “never just look to scramble.” Garoppolo, recovering from ACL surgery, has been ruled out for the team’s first preseason game as he preps for a return to game action. Taking Shanahan’s comments into context, he obviously wants the team’s prized signal-caller to scramble to avoid danger but also slide instead of getting hit. Garoppolo has fallen way off the fantasy radar after missing most of 2018 but received considerable hype last season after a strong 96.2 rating in six games in 2017.
