Jimmy Cordero To Serve As Opener Against Blue Jays
2 years agoThe New York Yankees announced that right-hander Jimmy Cordero will serve as the opener for Monday's contest against the Toronto Blue Jays. Behind Cordero, Jhony Brito appears likely to serve as the bulk reliever, so he'll be the better DFS play to begin the week. The 31-year-old Cordero has been solid for the Yankees so far out of the bullpen, allowing only five runs on 10 hits (one homer) while walking three and striking out 17 in 16 innings in his 15 appearances in relief. This will be his first "start" in the big leagues, but he won't have any fantasy appeal in what will likely be just an inning or two of work against Toronto.
