Jimmy Cordero Receives Three-Game Suspension
4 years agoChicago White Sox right-handed pitcher Jimmy Cordero has been levied a three-game ban by the league office after having been deemed to have thrown intentionally at Cubs catcher Willson Contreras during Friday’s game. Additionally, White Sox manager Rick Renteria was suspended for one game, which he will serve Saturday. Should Cordero elect not to appeal his suspension, he could begin serving it Saturday, which would rule him out for the remainder of the regular season. He has posted a 5.61 ERA in 29 appearances for Chicago this year, holding little fantasy intrigue due to his role within the relief corps.
