Miami Heat power forward Jimmy Butler (knee) has been ruled unavailable for Friday's game against Washington due to a sore right knee. The absence marks the third of the season for Butler, who has logged his lone two single-digit shot attempts outings in his past three games. With Tyler Herro (ankle) and Victor Oladipo (knee) already ruled out as well, multiple members of the Heat can be expected to see an increase in role on a short-term basis, namely Gabe Vincent, Max Strus and Duncan Robinson. When healthy, Butler has enjoyed a strong start to the year, averaging 20.8 points, 6.6 boards and 6.1 assists, all while shooting 48.3% overall. His next chance to suit up comes Sunday vs. the Cavaliers.--Jesse Borek

Golden State Warriors forward Jimmy Butler III (glute) was diagnosed with a deep glute contusion after his MRI didn't show any fractures or structural damage. According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the six-time All-Star is in "serious jeopardy" of missing Game 3 against the Houston Rockets on Saturday. Butler was going up for a rebound and was undercut by Amen Thompson before falling straight on his glute/lower back, so the fact that the MRI didn't reveal any serious damage is a breath of relief for the Warriors. If he's unable to play, Jonathan Kuminga could see some big minutes again, while Quinten Post will likely see an increase in usage as well.--Alex Fischbein - RotoBaller

Golden State Warriors forward Jimmy Butler III (pelvis) is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Thursday after experiencing a hard fall in Wednesday's Game 2 against the Houston Rockets. The six-time All-Star was limited to eight minutes in the contest, leaving the floor with 1:51 remaining in the first quarter. According to Draymond Green, Butler told his teammates that "he feels good." Butler will have two days to recover before Game 3. His exit on Wednesday opened the door for Jonathan Kuminga to re-enter the rotation. Playing for the first time since April 11, Kuminga recorded 11 points, three rebounds, two assists, and one block in 26 minutes. He may play a larger role again in Game 3 if Butler is unavailable.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Golden State Warriors forward Jimmy Butler III (thigh) is not listed on the injury report for Tuesday's play-in game against the Memphis Grizzlies. The veteran star injured his left thigh in a collision with Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard during Sunday's regular-season finale, but he pushed through the issue, and it won't prevent him from playing in Tuesday's crucial game. Butler III recorded his highest-scoring game as a Warrior on Sunday, finishing with 30 points, and he has built up strong momentum for the postseason, averaging 27.3 points over his last three games.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
